Registration and Library Card Use
SIGN UP FOR A LIBRARY CARD TODAY!
There is no charge for Vance County residents to use Perry Library. Library cards are required for checking out books, magazines, audio books, videos and DVDs. A library card is also required to use our public computers.
Identification and proof of address is all that is required to obtain a library card. Children under 14 must have a parent or legal guardian sign for them.
Out of County residents are charged a $10.00 annual fee.
There is a $2.00 replacement charge for a lost library card.
Loan Periods
Books, magazines, audio cassettes and CDs are loaned for three weeks, except reserved items. Reserved items may be checked out for 14 days and are not renewable. Videos and DVDs may be checked out for 7 days.
You may check out 3 books on a single subject.
If we do not have a book or magazine that you need we may be able to order it through InterLibrary Loan. The cost for this service is $3.00.
Overdue and Lost Material Charges
A fine of $.10 per day is charged on each book, magazine, cassette or CD that is overdue up to $5.00 maximum. A fine of $1.00 per day is charged for videos and DVDs that are over due. A fine of $2.50 per day is charged for AV Equipment.
Charges for lost books or other items is the replacement or current cost of the item PLUS a processing fee. Fees are also charged for repairs or replacement of damaged items.
There is a $.25 charge to reserve a book.
