Public Computers

Computers are available for either word processing or online research. Access to helpful homework and information sources is a mere click away using our homepage. Click on the NC LIVE logo to access magazines, newspapers, academic journals, as well as business databases such as Reference USA and Morningstar. NC Live also provides access to e-books and downloadable e-audio books via Net Library. Prepare for a standardized test or brush up on study skills with Learning Library Express.
Geography and history students of all ages will find a vast wealth of information about the the United States as well as countries around the globe by simply clicking on the CULTURE GRAMS logo. Explore history closer to home by clicking on the NC ECHO logo.
Access the Internet via the Google or Yahoo link on our homepage. Users must agree to abide by the library's Internet Access Policy.
Eight children's computers, for age 13 and under, are located on the first level and available on a first come first serve basis for a period of 60 minutes. Users must present a valid library card to the staff member at the Children's Help Desk.
Twenty two public computers are available for use to those 14 years of age and older and are located on the second level. These computers are reserved using a library card at the self-service PC Reservation station located across from the Circulation Desk on the first floor.
Before anyone age 17 an under can access the Internet, a parent or legal guardian must sing the parental Permission Agreement giving permission for the child to access the Internet. An adult must accompany any child 12 and under while using the Internet.
Copy Machines
The library has two photocopy machines, on on each level, as well as a microfilm/microfiche reader/printer. Copies cost $.10 each.
At this time, the library has no public fax machine.
