Lee Andrew Cannady

Private Lee Andrew Cannady died of a gunshot wound on September 8, 1965 while on active duty at Fort Hood, Texas during the Vietnam War.  He was 27 years old.

Lee Andrew Cannady was born in Kittrell, Vance  County, North Carolina on June 23, 1938, the son of James Garland Cannady and Cleo Burwell Cannady.  He was married to Gertrude Scott Cannady and had one daughter and two sons.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on September 16, 1963 and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas when he died of a gunshot wound on September 8, 1965.

He is buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Ingleside, Franklin County, North Carolina.
