Owen Ashley Wallace

Private Owen Ashley Wallace was killed in a vehicle collision on May 24, 1942 in Panama while on active duty with the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was 20 years old.

Owen Ashley Wallace was born on February 9, 1922 in Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina, the son of John Ashley Wallace and Frankie Pearl Ross Wallace.

Pvt Wallace enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and was deployed to the Canal Zone, Panama.  He was riding as a passenger in a civilian vehicle on May 24, 1942 when the vehicle crashed resulting in Pvt Wallace’s death.

Private Owen Ashley Wallace is buried in Raleigh National Cemetery, Raleigh, North Carolina.
