Chester Arthur Taylor

Private Chester Arthur Taylor died in a swimming accident on July 25, 1945 at Camp Crowder, Missouri while on active duty during World War II.  He was 18 years old.

Chester Arthur Taylor was born on November 11, 1926 in Granville County, North Carolina, the son of Frank Taylor and Cora Taylor..  The family were residing in Henderson, North Carolina at the time of his death. 

Pvt Taylor enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 5, 1945 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  He trained at Camp Crowder, Missouri in the Medical Training Group.  Taylor  suffered a fractured skull when he dived into shallow water and died a week later on July 25, 1945.  His mother was with him when he died.
