The 407th Reserve Labor Battalion was a U.S. Army unit, primarily composed of African-American soldiers, that served domestically during World War I. The unit was formed around August 1918 and was stationed at Camp Lee, Virginia. It was classified as a Reserve Labor Battalion, a designation often used for units providing manual labor and logistical support. Pvt Terry contracted pneumonia while serving on active duty and died on October 3, 1918.
