Ernest Kinnette Fleming

Private Ernest K. Fleming died of meningitis on June 15, 1944 at Fort McClellan, Alabama while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was 33 years old.

Ernest K. Fleming was born on August 13, 1910 in Vance County, North Carolina, the son of Howard Sullivan Fleming and Lilah Elizabeth Kennett Fleming.  He was a buyer on the Henderson tobacco market before entering the U. S. Army in March 1944.

Pvt Fleming was being treated for meningitis at the post hospital at Fort McClellan, Alabama when he died after an illness of three days on June 15, 1944.

Private Ernest K. Fleming is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Henderson, North Carolina.
